1. Albert Ayler, Lorrach/Paris 1966 (Hat Musics LP): A shopping cart careening around the corner at unsafe speeds.
2. Art Ensemble of Chicago, Sirius Calling (Pi CD): I'd forgotten how enjoyable these later AEC recordings are. A collection of (mostly) well-mannered, well-constructed miniatures.
3. Flowers/Corsano/Hejnowki, (Hot Cars Warp LP): Found more to like about this jammer than the first time I auditioned it.
4. Cecil Taylor, One Too Many Salty Swift and Not Goodbye (HatHut 3-LP): The many sides of Cecil Taylor.
5. Joe Morris & Nate Wooley, Tooth & Nail (Clean Feed CD): Works and doesn't work at the same time.
6. Roland P. Young, Isophonic Boogie Woogie (EM CD): Lots of different sounds, not all at once. Last two tracks are incredibly cheesy.
7. Bill Nace, Too Dead for Dreaming (8mm Single-Sided LP): Good stuff.
8. Je Suis le Petit Chevalier, Dark Morse (Shelter Press Tape): Ghostly drum circle of one.
9. Phillip Corner with Phoebe Neville, Concerto for Housekeeper and Other Dances with Phoebe (Imminent Frequencies Tape): Archival release that took me by surprise. Totally unfamiliar with Corner and his work. Recording is rough around the edges but it works. A lot to digest here.
I knew 7 of the 9 records you listed! That's a record (for me), LOL.
